UK Drone Law - Have your say today!

There are two key consultations going on at the moment around UK drone laws and competency requirements. I recommend reading them to get a full understanding of where the CAA are currently heading wrt the future of UAS regulations in the UK and the competency requirements for specific category operations.

  • https://consultations.caa.co.uk/rpas/remote-pilot-competency-rpcwg/ - The purpose of this consultation is to share the CAA’s proposal for the future of remote pilot (RP) competency in the specific category and provide an update on the progress of supporting policy workstreams. We are keen to receive feedback on our proposal from all UAS industry stakeholders. This one closes on 23rd August so get your views in ASAP.

  • https://consultations.caa.co.uk/rpas/call-for-input-review-of-uk-uas-regulations/ - This Call for Input seeks views from UAS stakeholders on opportunities to improve regulation of UAS. Feedback will be used by CAA, in addition to other evidence and analysis, to inform a future consultation on the changes we propose to progress. This one closes on 7th September.

Whether you're a seasoned drone operator or a newbie, it is well worth reading these and getting your views across.
